Someone

"Someone": Gabriel Garzón-Montano⁣

Production: Gabriel Garzón-Montano⁣

Album: TBA⁣

Gabriel Garzón Montano is somewhat of a musical tour de force. At times it seems as if there is nothing he can’t do and it’s impossible not to be impressed by it. If you saw his COLORS SHOW and his various Youtube concerts then you will have heard him tease several new singles from his upcoming sophomore album.

‘Someone’ is the first of the trilogy of promoted tracks and showcases classic Garzón-Montano. The Prince/D’Angelo and funk influences are easy to hear with a stringy head voice and lazy drumbeat carrying the listener through the narrative of the speaker feeling stranded from a past relationship. They find themselves in no man’s land between still needing them and the former partner having moved on. ‘Friends, lovers, friends, lovers’- the cycle perpetuated by their behaviour is as emotionally destructive as it is confusing. Neither knows quite where they stand with no resolution in sight.

Gabriel Garzón Montano’s second single, Agüita, has recently released and if these two songs are anything to go by then his follow up album is set to be explosive.
